The students will be admitted in public universities through an integrated admission test system from the next year, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has said. The minister made the statement in a press briefing at his office on Sunday afternoon. He said: “Universities need not arrange the admission tests. If required law will be changed in this regard.” Nahid said the question of Dhaka University admission tests was intentionally made tough, therefore only two students could be eligible for the English department among 166, 000 students. He said those who are making allegations of the degradation of the education standard, are unable to show evidence.
